Resistance Radio is hosted by WHIV founder MarkAlain Dery, who discusses a range of local, national, and international social justice-related current events and news stories. Resistance Radio airs live on WHIV on Mondays at 6pm. Recent guests and topics include Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell, New Orleans Charter School Reform, Pulitzer Prize winning Author Chris Rose, and State Representative Royce Duplessis to review the notable bills that passed in the legislative session.
Once a month, Resistance Radio hosts a version of the show called "Movement Monday" at the Ace Hotel which includes a live audience taping of WHIV 102.3FM's Resistance Radio show. We feature an interview with a culturally or politically relevant guest and a post-taping happy hour for casual but purposeful discussion of the topics covered during the interview, as well as an opportunity for action spearheaded by a local community partner.
