This week on Living Well in the Big Easy, co-host Gail Gillespie, Dr. Gail Gillespie, discusses Emotional Freedom Technique. She is a licensed psychologist who utilizes a technique that promotes natural and effortless healing to body, mind, spirit, and emotions. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT – aka “tapping”) is a research-based, simple, efficient, and effective tool that can address a myriad of challenges. Based on the same tenets as Chinese acupuncture, EFT utilizes the acupuncture points on the body - stimulating those points by tapping instead of using needles – in order to diminish or neutralize emotional or physical pain.
Dr. Gillespie talks about the research behind this technique, how it came to be, how it works, and hosts guests on the show who have benefitted from using EFT.
Dr. Gillespie has a private practice in Mid City and has been practicing EFT for ten years. She has an EFT demonstration the last Tuesday of every month at 6:30 at her office.
